Stuart Naval Dee

Stuart Dee studied painting and photography and graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Based in the Pacific Northwest, he has photographed extensively in over thirty countries throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. His work spans fine art, magazine, and advertising photography.  These images have been published worldwide.  His work was included in Kodak's 10,000 Eyes book commemorating the 150th anniversary of photography, the only Canadian represented.  The first book featuring his photography exclusively was APA Publication's Insight Guide to Vancouver, published in 1993.  The same year, he was chosen as one of seven international photographers to photograph Slovenia for a traveling exhibit on the new country.  The following year, he was selected as one of ten photographers to shoot Philippines, A Spirit of Place, for the Philippine Department of Tourism.  In between other assignments and projects over the last five years, he has returned repeatedly to the Philippines to work on this book, The Philippines Rediscovered.  When his travel schedule allows, he also teaches workshops on vision, color and travel photography.
